Tips for Knitting with Super Bulky Yarn
- Knitting with super bulky yarn has a different feel to it than working with smaller yarns. It may feel awkward at first using the much larger needles and yarn, but you'll get the hang of it if you are not used to it.
- I like to use circular needles when knitting with super bulky yarn, even if I'm knitting a flat project. The circulars don't stick out so far and they keep the weight of the project to a minimum.
- You might have to hold the yarn differently. For me, I can only wrap the yarn around my pinky (when I'm knitting English) or just my index finger (for Continental) when I usually do both. I just find that it pulls too much so I can only wrap once. Experiment and see what feels right to you.
